Xin Yee Restaurant

We were touring Penang on Sunday and happened to notice this restaurant packed with local customers at lunch time. Since we had no specific restaurant for our dinner, we called up the restaurant to reserve a table for 4 for dinner. The boss/staff who attended to the call was super friendly and efficient. He informed they take booking for 5.30 pm and 7.00 pm session. We settled for the earlier session but arrived at 6.00 pm to find a table duly reserved for us. It was almost full capacity, bursting with diners and even the outside tables were taken up. Ordering was seamless and super efficient. The boss/staff ( same guy who answered the call ) came to take order as well as making recommendations for delicious dishes. The dishes were served quite fast despite the full capacity crowd. Super delicious food and extremely reasonable prices for a restaurant in Georgetown. Simple conclusion : Great service, good food and generous pricing are key success factors of this remarkable restaurant.

My husband picked this restaurant and chose all the dishes, and I totally trusted his selections. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and we were thrilled with all of it! The service was super friendly and attentive, making our experience even better.

We visited Xin Yee Restaurant on our last night in Penang (since many places are closed on Mondays) and were really glad we did. We arrived around 8pm and were warmly welcomed and seated right away by the friendly owner. He personally recommended a few dishes and even advised us not to over-order, which we appreciated. We ended up with a stir-fried vegetable dish, salted tofu, prawns, and curry fish, all in small portions. The food came out quickly, and we were pleasantly surprised by how generous the portions were despite being called small. Everything was delicious and very well-cooked. The owner checked in on us during the meal and again when we were settling the bill, which made the whole experience feel very personal. Prices were very reasonable and much cheaper compared to Chinese restaurants in Kuching. I highly recommend this restaurant for its tasty food, fair prices, and welcoming service. I would definitely come back again on my next trip to Penang.

Awesome restaurant just off the main drag serving delicious traditional food! The Kung Pai chicken was exceptional and the Salted Egg Tofu was spot on! Service was very good and I believe it was the owner who gave us the excellent recommendations.

Best Service - Food come out so quick Fish Milk soup & Foo Yong Omelette was so delicious. Better RSVP before come during peak hours

It’s a Chinese restaurant you must try if you come to Penang!!! The staff are very friendly with big smiles, and the food is delicious. I was so happy with every bite, and the service was super fast. 100/10 I love it!!!

The best dining experience I’ve had in Penang so far! Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared, but the salted tofu truly stood out, perfectly seasoned, rich in texture, and absolutely addictive. It’s a must try for anyone visiting the place.

Recommend to the restaurant by my colleague and finally have a chance to try yesterday. Food serving speed is pretty fast and nothing short of amazing. Love the fish soup and most of their dishes were pretty well done and doesn’t really cost much. This place is fine with byo if you want to bring your own wine. Indonesia prawns will definitely worth a mention as six big prawn only cost RM25 with very awesome taste. Will be back to try most of their food in future.
